A positive frame of mind...

This weekend, try diligently to stay in a positive frame of mind while avoiding as many negatives that arise as possible (me included). - Jon Kennedy

Boggled...

I don't have any comment tonight because I'm boggled like many Americans. Please pray for our country, it really needs our help! - Jon Kennedy

Impeachment and removal from office...

Haven't we had enough of this complete and total bull? The president has officially lied to us about Obamacare and all of its repercussions now in progress and to come.

It would now be appropriate for not only the Republicans to vote for impeachment and removal from office, but the Democrats would fare greatly to divorce the president from their party and vote along with the conservatives for a fresh start for America, free of Obamacare and all of it's attached nightmares quickly heading our way. - Jon Kennedy

America has hit a huge bump...

America can no longer afford to live on autopilot, its citizens asleep at the wheel. Waking up to the fact that the government is strong arming its way, law by law into controlling our lives, is the first step in its prevention.

When prohibition made alcohol unconstitutional, it was many years before it was repealed. So don't expect Obamacare to go away anytime soon, regardless of just how much of a train wreck it is for this nation.

America has hit a huge bump in the road, but hopefully the road will smooth out after awhile.

Our nation must once again become a nation that can be respected and admired around the world. At the moment, we've strayed far from this status.

It all starts at the top. If we're not satisfied with the performance of our top leaders, then the people need to be cognizant of this and find some worthy leaders to put in place as soon as possible.

Here's to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" for all Americans! - Jon Kennedy  (except quote from the Declaration of Independence)

America's well-being...

Now is the time for Democrats to distance themselves completely from Obamacare and the president or risk being ousted in the next election.

Momentum of common sense from the left side of the aisle may be coming to fruition right now. Some of the liberals are beginning to realize just how toxic the new healthcare law is going to be to their political careers for all of its flaws, not to mention just how toxic it is for America's well-being - no pun intended.

Pray for a conservative government that doesn't run amok of its people! - Jon Kennedy

Common sense from the left aisle...

This is the golden age of having the wool pulled over the eyes of the American people, and it all culminates with the implementation of Obamacare, which isn't even popular with a now former, black female, White House operator, fired for speaking about its unpopularity on the phone with Sean Hannity.

I believe that many of the Democrats who openly praise Obamacare right now, probably do not even agree with it, but are fearful of disagreeing with their party.

Hopefully, a momentum of some common sense from the left aisle will lead to a complete repeal of this horrific law that has been forced upon nearly all Americans. This unprecedented nightmare to overtake our blessed republic can't end soon enough! - Jon Kennedy

The Obamacare registration web site...

If the Obamacare registration web site is any indication of what our health care system will look like, God help us all! Pray for a smaller government in every way. - Jon Kennedy

Downright scary...

Once big government is found to be impractical, incompetent, unaffordable, overbearing and downright scary by the majority of citizens, smaller and less obtrusive government must follow.

Truly our nation cannot afford big government in more ways than one. - Jon Kennedy

Step up to the plate...

At some point, all presidents must take responsibility for the direction of the country. Blaming a previous administration for what was left them will not get things fixed for any of us. We need solutions. We need people - leaders - who will step up to the plate and be defenders of the people. People who are willing to abolish the elite parties in favor of For the People parties. People who will rid us of the corrupt and broken political system that has made our dollars nearly worthless and our votes no longer count. People who will actually do what the people voted them in office to accomplish for all of us!

If America is the land that you love, let your opinion be known here. You still have freedom of speech, so use it! Thank you, and God bless you! - Jon Kennedy

I'll still live in America...

We Americans have a lot to be grateful for. As of late, our system has proven to be far from perfect and full of cracks. But, personally, I'll still live in America with all of its imperfections, before I'll live anywhere else on Earth. God bless America! - Jon Kennedy

Using Obamacare as a tool...

Obamacare is the destroyer of full-time employees, Americans' incomes, and an already delicate medical industry. Sure, millions of Americans were in need of health insurance, but many more millions were not in need.

This is nothing more than the government using Obamacare as a tool to collect another tax from everyone, and little to do with providing quality health care for anyone. Even if Obamacare is the worst thing going for all of us, we will still have to pay for it, like it or not, and at a higher premium.

It looks like we are all going to have to find out the hard way just how bad Obamacare is going to be in our lives. We are about to witness, first hand, it's gravity on us. Continue to pray that the American ideal will endure. - Jon Kennedy

End our drought of patriotism...

America is in a drought of patriotism. It seems that it has become a full-time job of top lawmakers to make us all un-patriotic. Kids are certainly not being led in this direction. Many adults never were led in this direction. Many adults who were led in this direction, as kids, may have forgotten all about it later in life due to lack of its presence in our current lives.

The top leaders are not even trying to instill a sense of patriotism in any of us. If anything, they are so into their own agendas that they don't recognize the rest of us across the country as anything significant in their equation.

This is where things are just not right for our country. We need real people who will truly serve the people, not elitists serving themselves - and serving themselves seconds, and thirds for that matter.

We need to draw the line and boot that ideal right out the window, along with most of them. It's killing our country. How much more, at this late date, are we willing to take from these elitists running us into the ground?

For those who still feel a sense of patriotic pride in America, you understand that the shenanigans that continue to go on unabated in Washington, is wrong for all of us!

Our country is at stake. God's help is very much needed in order to keep it alive and well. It has come this far with His help. Without His help, count on little for any of us. God bless America, and divinely heal our leadership and end our drought of patriotism. - Jon Kennedy

Respecting America with a pledge to our flag

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." - Francis Bellamy (1855 - 1931)

Section 4 of the Flag Code states:
The Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. flag should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.

It wouldn’t matter how much money we print…

The two sides – the conservatives and the liberals - are so rigid now when it comes to working things out for the sake of America, they simply cannot do it anymore. Each side believes themselves to be correct in their views. There is little faith in either side. But there are plenty of alternatives for America. It’s just a matter of all of us expanding our creative thinking on this very important subject to improve things for our nation.

The government’s partial shutdown is becoming bigger than just Obamacare now. It’s about the fate of America and the rest of the world. If we default on our loans, the U.S. dollar will lose its status as the world currency. The dollar is currently accepted in many countries around the world. But if we default, our deficit will no longer increase as it has for years, because we will no longer be able to print more money to fund the government. The reason for this is that it will be basically worthless because no country will want our dollars, and it will become an unaccepted currency around the world. It wouldn’t matter how much money we print at that point, it will just be worthless and no nation will want it. The U.S.A. is the only nation on Earth that prints more money when it becomes depleted.

I believe that we will see Obamacare remain, like it or not, after the government has reopened. Right now there is simply no choice, it’s already law, whether legal or illegal. Hopefully, common sense will prevail and Obamacare will end up in an appropriate heap, once the people decide that it’s bringing our nation down.

Let’s pray to God that America remains intact and witnesses as few fractures as possible in the coming days! – Jon Kennedy

God must be a big part of our lives…

It is true that God is not included in the U.S. Constitution. However, I believe that His guidance contributed greatly to our Forefathers forging such a document for all of us.

We should never become so arrogant as to believe that we are something greater than God, and He is no longer relevant in our lives. It’s the kind of thinking that has only brought us down as a nation; thinking that we will take care of everything without His grace. Good luck to us as a nation if we become Godless!

I believe that God must be a big part of our lives to help make this nation run. If we don’t include God in our lives, then we are arrogant to think that we are the creators; we just don’t care, or we were never introduced to God. And in our media-run society, not ever having been introduced to God is just about impossible!

God bless America, and God bless each and every one of you! – Jon Kennedy

Real people who respect the U.S. Constitution…

All of America’s problems start at the very top and roll down from there to the rest of us. It’s time to stop taking lightly just who we have for elected leaders. If we don’t like any of our choices, we need to find better choices for the sake of all Americans.

If we refuse to take interest in the workings of our political system because of fear or apathy (someone else will take care of things), then don’t look forward to very much in the future – perhaps the near future – perhaps right now. These politicians will trample us thoroughly if we allow it, and we are allowing it! We are Americans, and we are all integral parts of this big land called America; we are not just spectators.

Americans have become severe weaklings! They are afraid to speak-up or take action when they see or hear of wrongs being committed against others or themselves; they are afraid to stand their ground when they do speak out about something they believe in that most others do not, and eventually cave-in to pressure from the opposition and apologize publicly as if they were in the wrong after all; they wait for others to step forward to correct injustices, and refuse, or are afraid to take part in helping to solve the problem (someone else will take care of it for all of us); parents let their kids run them; how can kids ever be expected to have any respect for adults? I’ll stop here.

Can America ever get back on its feet again? I’m optimistic and I believe that it can, but only after all new leadership has replaced the old, elitist leadership with real people who respect the U.S. Constitution; people that will serve the American people who elected them to serve us, not their personal agendas. This is how it’s supposed to work in America, and we now desperately need to return to a real working, honest government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” – Quoted by Abraham Lincoln, from the Gettysburg Address, November 19, 1863. – Jon Kennedy (except where quoted)

A huge injustice...

The left and the right are both responsible for the partial government shutdown. The person at the top started it all. But the media would have us believe that the republicans are entirely at fault – not so! The republicans are not the creators of Obamacare. They simply don’t want to fund a huge injustice to the American people (Obamacare). However, at the rate things are progressing with all of this, both sides are going to end up smelling bad in the end if the government can’t find a way to reopen. – Jon Kennedy

Be prepared for a possible kink…

If you can’t feel that we are all teetering on the edge of something big going on in our nation, you haven’t been paying much attention. Be prepared for a possible kink in your lifestyle soon. It’s all coming out of Washington, D.C., and it rolls down to us from the top. God bless America, now more than ever! – Jon Kennedy

A brand new era…

If the government shutdown doesn’t end before October 17th, and it defaults on its debts, this will be a first for America. Perhaps it will create a recession or worse. Whatever occurs, one thing is certain, it will be a huge shakeup for our two-party political system. And it won’t be the American people who bring on their demise due to lack of votes in the next election. It will be self-inflicted by all of the two-party system’s leaders who bring us to that moment.

Looking to the more upbeat side of things - this could be a brand new era for America where a whole new crop of leaders emerge who want fairness for all Americans in all aspects of our lives. It could be the beginning of leadership where all of the laws that have, and will be created, apply not only to Americans, but to the lawmakers themselves. Government could actually make sense again.

Who really knows what’s headed our way? One thing I do know is that I would rather have God included in the outcome, whatever happens.

Uncharted territory…

We all need to pray for our nation and the world, over and over again. Our man-made government and economy are teetering on the abyss. If our leaders can’t find a way to re-open the government, then we and the rest of the world will be in uncharted territory that won’t be much fun for anyone to deal with. You’ll get to witness just what stubborn egos are capable of doing to our world. Pray that it doesn’t come to that moment. God bless us all! – Jon Kennedy

It takes two to tango…

Egos are the main ingredient in the refusal for our President, Speaker of the House, and Senate Majority Leader to come to an agreement and end the government shutdown. Both parties believe themselves to be right.

You can blame the Republicans or the Democrats, but it takes two to tango. None of these people are innocent, nor are they excused for their actions.

I would say, right now, they are all looking and sounding quite childish, and this is not what America needs!

The very deep division between the two political parties…

Our current, corrupt political system is not the answer for America. I believe that the very deep division between the two political parties will be alleviated only when we decide to move on to new “we the people” and “for the people” brand of parties, and leave the old elitist parties behind to watch them disintegrate. But at the moment, they are America’s biggest problem for certain.

It’s not going to make our country a better place…

It’s difficult to get excited about Obamacare when the lawmakers themselves, and the Commander in Chief, want nothing to do with it. In other words, they know it’s not going to make our country a better place.

It should have been made available for those who are uninsured, and the rest of us wouldn’t be concerned with this right now.
