Real people who respect the U.S. Constitution…

All of America’s problems start at the very top and roll down from there to the rest of us. It’s time to stop taking lightly just who we have for elected leaders. If we don’t like any of our choices, we need to find better choices for the sake of all Americans.

If we refuse to take interest in the workings of our political system because of fear or apathy (someone else will take care of things), then don’t look forward to very much in the future – perhaps the near future – perhaps right now. These politicians will trample us thoroughly if we allow it, and we are allowing it! We are Americans, and we are all integral parts of this big land called America; we are not just spectators.

Americans have become severe weaklings! They are afraid to speak-up or take action when they see or hear of wrongs being committed against others or themselves; they are afraid to stand their ground when they do speak out about something they believe in that most others do not, and eventually cave-in to pressure from the opposition and apologize publicly as if they were in the wrong after all; they wait for others to step forward to correct injustices, and refuse, or are afraid to take part in helping to solve the problem (someone else will take care of it for all of us); parents let their kids run them; how can kids ever be expected to have any respect for adults? I’ll stop here.

Can America ever get back on its feet again? I’m optimistic and I believe that it can, but only after all new leadership has replaced the old, elitist leadership with real people who respect the U.S. Constitution; people that will serve the American people who elected them to serve us, not their personal agendas. This is how it’s supposed to work in America, and we now desperately need to return to a real working, honest government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” – Quoted by Abraham Lincoln, from the Gettysburg Address, November 19, 1863. – Jon Kennedy (except where quoted)
